OUR STAFF
Salomon Amaya
Salomon Amaya is a twelve-year veteran of the Houston salsa and dance community, teaching students of all backgrounds everything from the basics to mastery choreographies. He has traveled the world sharing his love for salsa and become a YouTube salsa sensation, with millions tuning in to learn from his creative style. His passion for choreography led him to form his dance company, Xango — now one of the top salsa companies in Texas — which he opens to the public once a year for aspiring dancers to train and perform alongside him.
Kanosky “K” Muñoz Alvarez
Kanosky “K” Muñoz Alvarez was born and raised in Maracaibo, Venezuela, beginning her training at age five in classical ballet, folklor venezolano, jazz and flamenco. After moving to the U.S. in 1998 she returned to her true passion — dance — in 2002, working with distinguished individuals across the Houston dance community and performing at the 2008 Latin Grammy Awards.
Daisy Aguilar
Teacher. Choreographer. Performer. Artist. A born-and-raised Houstonian, Daisy Aguilar began her artistic journey at 14, studying ballet, jazz, modern, hip-hop, flamenco and contemporary dance before earning her B.A. in Dance Studies (minor in Spanish) and an M.A. in Teaching from Texas Woman’s University. A full-blown “salsa addict,” she now teaches salsa and bachata and performs with the AMAYA Dance Semi-Pro Team.
